Ananda C. Arán - Tier 1

Hi James,

I hope it's not too late to post. I just remembered about this today - and I've just been checking out some of last month video critiques for other people and found them really insightful. So thanks for keeping this up.

About my two pieces, I did the first image trying to push myself and tackle a scene way more complex than I'm used to. I'd appreciate suggestions to go a bit further.
The second one has been laying around my unfinished folder for months. Seems empty to me, I've tried to add figures especially on the foreground but they always look too tacked on or distract from the environment imho. I'm not sure what else to add.

Yigit Isik - Tier 2

Hi James,
I'm so sorry for the latency, it totally slipped my mind. I really hope it doesn't cause much problem.
Here are this month's pieces. Thanks so much for last month's feedback!

Cory Carrilio Tier 3

I'm submitting a previous image after working more with the feedback you provided James, I'm looking forward to finishing this piece but feel as if it's not completely where I want it to be yet. I removed the Indian on the horse for the time being to focus more on the environment.

Dennis Houwers (Tier 3)

Hello. Here's my work for this month. This time I wanted to create a more intimate environment. Used a photo for the geisha and smoke , everything else is painted from imagination.
Thanks!

Jason Cumbers - Tier 4

Hi James, Thank you once again for this opportunity.  I started with a 3D model in Sketch-Up and used a mix of photo bashing and painting. I wanted to create a densely populated space but had trouble making characters looked like they belonged in the environment. I attempted to use my perspective lines, thirds and value knowledge from my mentorship. I think I would have benefited from starting with some thumbnails and understanding how I wanted my final composition to look, I think the final image is very static. I look forward to your critique.

Eric Martin Tier 3

Hey James, I wanted to design  Large spaces ships engine room. Thanks for your help.

Jenny Tan - Tier 4 ($50)

Hey James, I can't do backgrounds. This was for a quaint british visual novel thing. Thanks in advance!

Jeff Brown - Tier 1

Hello!

I'm looking forward to hear any suggestions for these pieces!
Right now I think that this one is my best piece but I'm wanting to rework it to make it better.

Thanks so much James! Your comments and sketch-over on the last one were extremely helpful!

Jasza Dobrzanski - tier 2

Hello James,
Here are my two pieces for this month. One is supposed to be a crime scene where a writer was killed, in his winter garden, before he could finish his manuscript. The other one is a sort of post-apocalyptic world, but with a lighter/happier feel than the usual mad max or fallout kind of setting. The big structure is supposed to be a rusting wreck of a tanker, I'm not sure how well that reads. Looking forward to the critique!

Daniel Pollok - Tier 4(50$)

Hi James,

here is my piece for this month. I tried to apply the feedback from the past sessions, especially considering lighting but some things are still bothering me. Looking forward to your critique!

Kim Petersen – Tier 4

Hi!

Here is a image I recently completed. I would like to know how I could push this further in terms of lighting as I feel the FP is a bit flat.
